Hats Off !!

Yet another family has networked with their neighborhood to sponsor a fundraiser for Project Mercy's "Goat Supply" program.   The Banning family of upper New York has been so gracious to put together various fund raisers for their children and neighborhood kids (no pun intended) as well.  It really is heart-touching when 6-9 year old children have a heart for reaching out to a foreign neighbor and supply them with goats.

For those of you who forgot what the "goat Supply" program is, or you just have never heard of it...let me explain. Project Mercy supplies pairs of goats (1 male and 1 female) to families who we deem as candidates for long term help.  The families agree to "not eat the goats."  Secondly, they promise to give back to PM the first male and first female offspring.  This pair is then given to another family....and the concept is propagated for years to come.  This is an original idea of Project Mercy.  Other programs have caught on and are using the concept and it is working wonderfully.  We have no possession of things like this.  We have a desire to see the whole global community thrive through whatever means it takes, even goats.

Hat's On !!

Working hat that is.  Shiloh is the name of a training center we are building in Monte Quemado, Argentina.  This is in the northwest desert region near Chaco.  It's not like the Sahara desert, but it bears many characteristics of a desert region like low percentage of rainfall and extreme heat.

As it turns out, a major non-profit food ministry based out of the Southeastern USA had committed to finish building this facility that we had started in 2006.  The food ministry up and decided to take back their promise and it has left us hanging.  Nothing is more frustrating in the non-profit community than a sister organization to completely walk away from you after they had made such big pledges. Let's all keep our guards up and notify each other of any program that would treat us like this.

We have the exterior walls, roofing, windows, and doors completed.  However, we still need to finish the inside.  This will include superstructure to support the 2nd story, finish interior walls, doors, floors, A/C and Heat, and electricity wiring for the whole facility.

Project Mercy estimates the remaining cost of construction to be $35,000.  This is pennies on the dollar compared to what it would cost in these United States.  We are excepting corporate donations, private funding, and anyone else who wants to help us complete this building.  We need to complete it ASAP, as the cost of materials continue to rise.
